Ginger Root

Ginger is a true superfood, it is abundant with health benefits and in food dishes around the world, ginger is one of the most thoroughly scientifically backed plants.  Gingerol is an organic substance found in ginger, it is an anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antimicrobial, and antioxidant. 

As a tea, ginger is used to treat indigestion, nausea, flu, colds, sore throats, and gut inflammation.  It has been found to boost liver health, warm up the bodily system, and even supress cancer cells.  Pregnant women may find relief when regularly drinking ginger tea because it helps reduce the nausea associated with morning sickness. 

Ginger can be applied topically to reduce the pain from osteoarthritis when combined with mastic, cinnamon, and sesame oil. 

Incorporating fresh or powdered ginger into the diet has many uses.  According to studies, ginger may protect the brain against Alzheimer’s and improve brain function if consumed regularly.  New research and findings have shown that ginger may significantly lower blood sugar levels, as well as reduce the risk of heart disease.  It is helpful in lowering LDL cholesterol, similarly to modern day medication and without life diminishing side effects.
