Juniper

An erect evergreen coniferous shrub with leave-like needles, cones that are known as juniper berries. Theses berries take about three years to become completely ripe and transition into a dark blue/black color. Berries, leaves, and needles may be used for medical purposes.

Juniper may be used in tea, jam, extract, a tincture, essential oil, and as an infusion. 2-10 grams may be used for tea and infusions, which have antibacterial, antiviral, and diuretic properties. it is used externally in tincture form as a antibacterial, and pain reliever. In vapor form, it may be inhaled in order to help sooth bronchitis.

It is recommended to not be used by women who are pregnant, nursing, or by individuals with kidney disorders, diabetes, or hypoglycemia. Use in moderation or by supervision of professionals, especially for continued regular use of infusion, tincture, and/or oil forms for over six weeks.
