Marjoram

Marjoram has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties; it may also act as an antimicrobial.  Marjoram can be prepared as a tea, extract, or essential oil, depending on the treatment.  It is used to treat infections, digestive issues and painful menstruation.

 In the past, marjoram was used sooth stomach ulcers and various foodborne illnesses.  It is used today to promote appetite, reduce nausea, flatulence, and reduce the risk of intestinal infections. 

It is recommended that pregnant women do not take marjoram supplements, as it may result in negative side effects.  Marjoram has also been known to interact with types of medication, including insulin, blood thinners, and anticoagulants.
