Milk Thistle

Milk Thistle

The greatest benefactor of milk thistle is the liver.  It is used to improve the conditions of individuals with liver damage, inflammation, cancer, fatty liver disease, alcoholic liver disease, and hepatitis.  Interestingly, it is used to defend the liver against amatoxin, found in death cap mushrooms, as well as various other toxins.

The milk thistle is has antioxidant, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Milk thistle is perhaps helpful to bone health, researchers found that it may stimulate bone mineralization and likely reduces the risk of bone loss.

Studies have shown that milk thistle may reduce acne and improve breast milk production.  Chemicals in milk thistle are thought to help individuals with diabetes, whilst the anti-inflammatory and antibiotics are believed to help prevent complications inherent with diabetes and kidney disease.
