A native aromatic herb to Europe, it thrives in a variety of different climates and has been used in medicine for centuries. Made notorious as an ingredient in absinthe, and renowned for its hallucinogenic properties. Typically, wormwood is used as a tea or tincture. The Stems are used to make oil and the entire plant is utilised to prepare tinctures.
Wormwood has been used to prevent moth and flea infestations, and as the primary ingredient for love potions. It is believed to sooth digestive ailments, topical inflammation, and reduce fever. Wormwood may help with deworming, those with jaundice, and to increase ones’ sexual drive.
Although the active ingredient, Thujone, has many benefits, it is known to be toxic and attributed to the cause of seizures and death in some cases.
