Nettle

For centuries, stinging nettle has been used in herbal medicine for its variety of benefits. Nettle is typically dried and used as a tea or infusion.  It is an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and high in polyphenols, compounds capable of helping to manage and prevent diabetes, obesity, cancer, heart disease and other inflammation related chronic diseases. 

It has been traditionally used to relieve pain, and muscle sores.  Studies have shown nettle to be particularly helpful to the urinary tract as it may remove harmful bacteria, including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).  Nettle is likely to promote urinary tract medications; however, it behoves oneself to check with a medical professional before combining treatments and medications.
